Pours a golden color with a white fizzy head. Nose is sweet, malty, vanilla, slight bourbon notes. Flavors are the same as the nose with some clove and banana flavors as well. The bourbon is not as strong as it is in a fresher beer and the alcohol is not as noticeable either. Not bad for a 5yr old tripel. Full sized, fizzy, tan head made of large, well spaced bubbles. Nose is bready, yeasty, a bit of clean smoke (could be suggestion, maybe not as the licorice escapes me), some musty funk, fruits, caramel malt, and spices. Same flavors with some toastiness and peppery notes. Dry, yeasty finish. Full, doughy, balanced body. Very flavorful, very drinkable.
