Ratings and Reviews: 100 Point Customizable Rating scales:

RateSpirits uses an extremely descriptive 100 point scale for our rating and review system with multiple criterion.  We truly feel that this is necessary to achieve the most accurate results and evaluations.  Many other review sites only allow you to rate something overall from 1 to 5.  This hardly does a product justice in our humble opinion.  Take a wine, for example perhaps a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon.  The nose is extremely captivating and the palate follows suit.  The finish hardly lingers for whatever reason and this leads to a disappointment in your overall evaluation.  Having only 1 to 5 to voice that opinion is a disservice to your evaluation skills.  Rating something 5 out of 5 should be reserved for the best of the best while a 4 out of 5 leaves much too large a range for interpretation.  Based on a grading scale, that would be anywhere from a 80 or a B- to a High A depending on ones views.  We feel there is far too much of a discrepancy with this method and have created ours as follows:

Nose: 1 to 100
Palate: 1 to 100
Finish: 1 to 100
Price to Value Ratio: 1 to 100
Overall Impression: 1 to 100

Don't feel like delving too far into the spirit you are trying but still want to rate and review it?  Only a score for overall impression is required so just get as detailed as you care to.

When reviewing, kindly use this guide to base your opinions.  It will closely resemble a 100 point grading scale commonly found in education.
